Make It Better – Spotlight on AFAR

As part of our Make it Better charitable giving program, Paris is a proud sponsor of AFAR.

AFAR (A Future After Rehab) is a nonprofit organization that purchases and manages sober living homes in Burlington County, NJ. These homes provide a safe place to live for recovering addicts and alcoholics who have completed rehabilitation. AFAR covers a majority of living expenses so that residents can focus on getting back on their feet. The recovery houses offer sober living with support from housemates who are also going through the recovery process. They provide transportation, meals, and have an outreach source and computer access for finding employment opportunities. Residents who comply with the regulations of the house and remain active and contributing members of the household may stay as long as needed.

In June of 2019, our donations helped AFAR open their third house for 8 recovering addicts. Scroll down to see images from when our MIB committee went out to visit the home.

“Make it Better” was established so employees could partake in giving back on behalf of Paris. Employees can nominate local charities that are near and dear to them. The nomination is then reviewed by an employee panel to be sure it fits within certain established criteria.
