Paris has a long history of charitable donations with a particular emphasis on helping those in need as well as the promotion of the free enterprise system, which has made our success possible. In 2012, Paris employees came together to collect items for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. There was such an overwhelming response, that our CEO was moved to create an internal charitable giving program.
“Make it Better” was established so that employees could partake in giving back on behalf of Paris. Each employee can nominate local charities near and dear to them, to receive a contribution. The nomination is then reviewed by an employee panel to be sure it fits within certain established criteria. We also welcome suggestions which can be sent through our Contact Us page.
In 2018 Paris started a relationship with AFAR (A Future After Rehab). AFAR is a local nonprofit organization that purchases and manages sober living homes in Burlington County, New Jersey, in order to provide recovering addicts and alcoholics who have completed rehabilitation a safe place to live.
The cost of living in a recovery house can be too expensive for some and AFAR covers most of that expense so that they can focus on getting back on their feet. Their recovery houses offer sober living with support from housemates who are also going through the recovery process. They provide transportation to and from meetings and outpatient facility appointments. All meals are provided for their residents. They also have an outreach source for finding employment opportunities and computer access is available for job searches, locating meetings, and recovery resources. Residents who comply with the regulations of the house and remain active and contributing members of the household may stay as long as needed.
With the help of Paris, AFAR will be opening a new house in June of 2019 for 8 recovering addicts. As a special thank you AFAR invited our CEO, Gerry Toscani, to their recent Spring Gala.
