Our Favorite 2019 Pattern Trends
One thing we love to do is look at all the different trends going on in the market, especially when it comes to print/pattern and color trends. We take all the visuals we see, create mood boards and use it for inspiration to develop new products each season. Because we have so much fun doing this research, we wanted to share with you some of the 2019 pattern trends that we love and that helped inspire our new DocIt products!
Tropical Leaves
It’s a tropical paradise out there with palm leaves and other tropical botanical images popping up everywhere from fashion to housewares to stationery products.
Abstract Geometry and Shapes
Colorful, geometric shapes are playful and spark a sense of creativity. This trend ties in well with the bold colors that are seen all over the marketplace.
Deconstructed Paisley
The traditional Paisley print has been renewed, deconstructed and simplified with vibrant hues, pop motifs, and watercolor effects. The updated pattern takes on a new modern twist and has been paired with new textures such as fringe and tassels.
Marbling
With geode rocks with the beautiful patterns and crystal formations inside being popular in the accessories and housewares market, marbling took on a trend of its own in pattern design. Its even taken on a craft trend called “Dirty Pouring” where people can create their own marble effects on paper, canvas, pottery, etc!
Bold Colors
This is a trend that we have seen growing for the past years in both packaging design and pattern design, with 2019 being on top of the chart.
The designer of these patterns stated that they are “..loose, bold and colorful…” and were “influenced by repetitive rhythm and color”. She feels “A loose hand keeps the feel warm, casual, and friendly!” We couldn’t agree more!
Just in time for the back to school season, we have launched 2 new patterns for our DocIt Organizer product line – XOXO and Feathers. Looking at these patterns, you can see how they fit right in with some of the current trends we are seeing for 2019.
