Turn a Drawing into a Shirt for Father’s Day!

Create a custom gift for dad this year by transferring your kid’s drawings onto a t-shirt! This project is a quick and easy way to make a personalized, one of a kind gift that Dad will love!

What you’ll need:

1. Drawing Supplies and Paper
2. White T-Shirt
3. PrintWorks Fabric Transfers (Light or Dark transfers will both work on the white shirt)
4. Inkjet Printer
5. Scissors
6. Iron or Heat Press (read instructions for using a heat press here).

Before you begin, be sure to read or watch the complete instructions for using our fabric transfers.

1. Start by letting your child draw a picture for dad. It can be anything their heart desires! Let them go crazy!

2. Once the drawing is finished, scan it into your computer. At this point, if you are using the White Transfers, be sure to mirror (flip) the drawing so it won’t be backwards when transferred (especially if there is writing in the drawing). If you are using the Dark Transfers, you can print normally without editing the drawing. Print on the blank, unlined side of your fabric transfers.

3. Now it’s time to iron! We recommended using a white t-shirt because there are likely some white areas in the drawing. This way you can cut loosely around the edge of the drawing, but the border won’t be as noticeable as it would be on a darker colored shirt. Both the White and Dark Transfers will work on the white t-shirt. Please refer to the appropriate instructions for the type of transfer you are using.
