What Will Be Trending in 2025?
It’s 2025, and one of our favorite things about going into the new year is getting to see what the 2025 trends will be and how they will influence our lifestyles, our living spaces, our clothing and accessories, our hobbies and crafts, and even our celebrations! There are a few concepts that have been emerging and will play a big part in 2025, so without further ado, let’s get to it!
Sustainability x Future
While sustainability is hardly a new topic or trend, it’s something that is now interwoven into almost every aspect of life and is bringing an exciting new way of doing things. Fashion is being recycled more in the sense that people are finding clothes from thrift shops and giving clothes new life by using everyday materials they already have. Crafting is becoming more eco-friendly by using natural dyes and organic materials. People are embracing imperfection, and rather than throwing out something broken, they are finding clever ways to upcycle it. Craft kits, which have seen enormous growth themselves, now include plant-growing and self-sufficient gardening kits.
Self-Care
This is also a huge movement that is influencing not only health and beauty industries but also crafting, celebrations, and of course, color trends! As a result, people are searching for ways to feel hopeful, yet calm and relaxed, trying to avoid spiraling in these unprecedented times. Color can play a huge part in evoking feelings and emotions, which is why many of the colors that will be trending in 2025 will be bright and cheery pastels like Butter Yellow or Jelly Mint. Another notable color will be a bright orangey yellow color that looks like a ray of sunshine, symbolizing the pursuit of reassurance. Slow crafting is becoming bigger to let people disconnect from the world and enjoy the process of creativity. Weaving, watercolor painting, stitching, and coloring/drawing are perfect mindful hobbies to provide a sense of calmness due to the rhythmic, repetitive motions.
Kidulting
This cultural trend originated from adults becoming nostalgic for their childhood by playing with toys again and collecting cards and action figures. It started emerging back in 2020, but this nostalgia has morphed into something even bigger and continues to grow and become more consuming. As a result, people are painting stripes and showcasing childlike artwork in their homes, buying cartoon-esque accessories and décor, playing dress-up, and making themselves look like a doll with teeny-tiny bag charms or cheery pastel hair clips. Who doesn’t want to indulge in a little whimsy from time to time?
Cherries, Cowgirls, & Pickles
Just to touch on a few other notable 2025 trends, we will be seeing cherries EVERYWHERE! Some strawberries might be included in the fruit salad, but it will mostly be cherries showing up from stationery to fabric patterns to disco cherry décor! We’ll also be saying “Howdy!” to the modern cowgirl and her quintessential boots, hat, and horseshoes. These icons will be showing up in the form of little boot charms, a paper cowgirl hat, or even quilted boot potholders. Lastly, and probably the most fun trend in our opinion, will be pickles! Not only will pickles be having a moment on the food scene, but you’ll be seeing these show up on graphic tees, housewares, and fashion accessories.
