After graduating Rowan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, George Andrews began his career as an Assistant Controller at Cento Fine Foods in West Deptford NJ. Primarily responsible for financial reporting, payroll and accounts payable. George’s role at this premier Italian food importer and distributor laid the foundation for his career in business finance.
From there, George went to Hill-Rom Industries, a leader in the healthcare industry, as Accounting Manager for several years. At Hill-Rom, his duties comprised of financial reporting, implementation of various distributor agreements as well as managing 7 direct reports for the company’s multiple divisions.
Transitioning to Sielox LLC, a manufacturer and distributor of electronic access control products, proved to be a pivotal step for George as he attributes one of his proudest professional accomplishments to working there. As a consultant for LQ Corp, George assisted in acquiring the access control division of then Checkpoint Systems. Eventually, Checkpoint Systems divested their access control division, thus resulting in the standalone entity known as Sielox, LLC. After the acquisition was completed, he was hired full time as the Controller where he remained for several years.
Prior to joining Paris Corporation, George was the Controller for private equity owned TransAxle, the largest remanufacturer of heavy-duty drive train components on the East Coast. At TransAxle, George was responsible for financial reporting, preparation of board meeting presentations, overseeing the credit and collections department and treasury functions. During his tenure as Controller, TransAxle performed the largest acquisition in company history, bringing the company from a primarily east coast supplier, to a national presence.
George Andrews brings over 20 years of experience serving and advising, small and large businesses in all aspects of financial sustainability, growth, and security to Paris. In his role of Controller, George is responsible for the Finance/Accounting function including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit & Collections.
Paris’ innate resourcefulness towards growth and innovation as witnessed by the Weego Portable Power product line is what drew George to this company. However, George admits Paris’ overall commitment to the value of its employees is its true mark of business success.
George lives by the values of integrity, accuracy and communication. His entrepreneurial spirit motivates him to challenge the idea “it’s always been the way we’ve done it” by being open to diversified ways of doing business.
